UART Error Checking - neoVI
Main

Applies to
neoVI Blue, neoVI Red, neoVI FIRE, and neoVI Yellow

The ISO9141 and Keyword 2000 protocols use a checksum field to protect the data that is transmitted.  neoVI allows you to disable the automatic addition of this checksum to transmitted messages and the checking of it on the reception of messages. This maybe useful for a UART protocol that doesn't use the checksum or calculates it differently.  A parity setting is also available if your network requires this.

Figure 1 - The standard checksum for ISO communications can be disabled.  Parity can also be added if needed.
